Remember,Remember The Fireworks In November?
Gunpowder, treason and plot – said the children’s rhyme. Time was that fireworks were a once a year mystery that celebrated something terrible that happened several hundred years ago. Today, companies such as
ACME Fireworks have completely changed the landscape of firework events. For many years small family firework parties took place, just once a year, in November, to celebrate part of our not to great religious past. Burning of human effigies on large bonfires (because of religious sentiments) were always the centre piece of such parties. Firework foodstuffs such as home-made toffee apples and hot dogs made the firework display into something memorable despite the rather tired nature of its bangers and roman candles.
Multicultural Fizz and Bang
As our society has changed, becoming far more multi-cultural and perhaps the old reasons for celebrating with fireworks are no longer relevant. Today, our multi-cultural society chooses to celebrate many different occasions when fireworks are more appropriate. Companies like ACME Fireworks provide fantastic individual and themed displays. We now expect to see fireworks at many times during the year. Multimillion pound displays associated with holidays as New Year’s Eve and special events such as the up-coming Olympic Games are all opportunities to enjoy fireworks displays that would once not have taken place.
